The Demon of Petty Disturbances: Doh-da is one Hell of a Novel!

Author K. Kylyra Ameringer releases her first full length novel, The Demon of Petty Disturbances: Doh-da.

April 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland - Once in a great while, a new book will emerge on the market that creates a fresh, original story line. Rarer still is a book that will get readers to laugh out loud. Combine the two and you've got the first full length novel, The Demon of Petty Disturbances: Doh-da, from author K. Kylyra Ameringer. Hell, it seems, is not such a bad place to go to.

'What people need [in a book] is a little escapism, a little adventure - well, you've certainly given us that!' (Heather Jacobs) In this debut book scheduled to be the first in a series, K. Kylyra Ameringer introduces to the world Tronaugh, The Demon of Petty Disturbances, and her imp sidekick, DT. Tronaugh's job is to control humans by subtle - and sometimes not so subtle - machinations designed to wreak the maximum amount of upheaval in their daily lives. Ameringer manages to twist strict historical facts with her one-of-a-kind sense of humor in The Demon of Petty Disturbances: Doh-da. 'Astute readers can do their research. Historical figures referenced are accurate, at least in discussions regarding their lives. I think that element of the book adds a dimension of fun way beyond the story,' says Ameringer.

'This is hugely funny and well constructed. I absolutely love the details…' (Ali Cooper) Ameringer was also meticulous in continuity. 'I'm a huge fan of Asimov's Foundation universe. He managed to tie stories and books written over his life into one large history. Of course, I emulated him,' Ameringer admits. 'The Demon of Petty Disturbances: Doh-da ties directly in with my on-line story, True Blue Lou, as well as everything I've put on DNET at darkworld.com. I have other unpublished stories that tie in, and a one foot pile of notes, maps, sketches, outlines, and compiled facts that I draw my work from.'

True to her perfectionism, Ameringer commissioned award winning cartoonist Adrian Teal, whose work has been seen in the Sunday Telegraph, Daily Star Sunday, The Scotsman, and numerous other publications, to give Tronaugh, who appears on the front cover, her form. 'Adrian was fantastic,' Ameringer states. 'Not only did he get the proofs and changes to me quickly, he also managed to pull Tronaugh out of thin air and give her a look that I love.' The cover background artwork was done by KarrArikh Tor of Dark World International. 'Tor had already done some local paintings of Bantry, so he had a very clear idea of the look I wanted,' according to Ameringer. 'Combined with Adrian's illustration, the cover looks smashing.'
