Francis M. Jackson, veterans benefits and social security disability attorney, has signed a publishing deal with CelebrityPress, a leading book publishing company, along with other leading legal experts to release “Protect and Defend.”

April 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Francis M. Jackson, founding partner of Jackson & MacNichol Attorneys at Law, has joined a select group of America’s leading attorneys to co-write the forthcoming book titled, “Protect and Defend: Proven Strategies from America's Leading Attorneys to help you Protect and Defend Your Business, Family and Wealth.” Nick Nanton, Esq. along with business partner, JW Dicks, Esq., recently signed a publishing deal with each of these authors to contribute their expertise to the book, which will be released under their CelebrityPress™ label.

Francis “Jack” Jackson is an experienced attorney who specializes in disability law for those seeking veterans disability benefits and social security disability benefits.  Mr. Jackson, founding partner of Jackson & MacNichol, Attorneys at Law, has been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX network affiliates around the country.

Mr. Jackson most recently appeared as a guest of Ben Glass on the “Consumer Advocate” show discussing his expertise in benefits for veterans and social security disability benefits and how his practice allows him to make a significant difference in the lives of people facing disabilities.  He has also been quoted in USA Today.

Jack has practiced law for more than 30 years, with a focus in the disability area. Before launching Jackson & MacNichol, Jack practiced general civil and criminal litigation, including employee benefits and personal injury cases. After he had established his Social Security disability practice, a change in federal legislation allowed Jack to expand the firm’s practice areas to include representation of veterans seeking disability benefits. In addition to representing clients before the Veterans’ Administration, Jack has pursued claims before the Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

The forthcoming book, Protect and Defend: Proven Strategies from America's Leading Attorneys to help you Protect and Defend Your Business, Family and Wealth, will feature strategies from some of America’s leading legal minds to help businesses and families navigate the often cumbersome nature of the today’s legal system.  Some of the topics covered include how to keep your house from foreclosure, offering compromise with the IRS, veteran’s benefits, alcohol related cases, injury settlements, health insurance, asset protection for the middle class, and much more. The book is tentatively scheduled to be available in the summer of 2012.

About Francis Jackson:

Looking back on the roots of Jackson’s more than 30-year career as an attorney, after his graduation summa cum laude from Bowdoin College in 1974, a factor in his move to disability law was his longtime interest in the mental health and law area.  That sprang from his internship during law school with the prestigious Mental Health Law Project in Washington, D.C.  While in law school he also served on the editorial board of the University of Maine Law Review and was a member of the school’s national moot court competition team.

Jack has practiced law for more than 30 years, focusing in the disability area. After he established his Social Security disability practice, he expanded the firm’s practice areas to include representation of veterans seeking disability benefits. As a member of the National Association of Veterans' Advocates (NOVA), Jack’s firm, Jackson & MacNichol, represents veterans at all stages of the benefits appeal process, and has handled hundreds of cases nationwide. In addition to representing clients before the Veterans’ Administration, the firm represents veterans in the appeals courts. Among Mr. Jackson’s more important victories in veterans cases at the court level are Smith v. Derwinski, 2 Vet. App. 241 (1992) and Moody v. Principi, 357 F.3d 1370 (Fed. Cir. 2004).

Jack tracks the latest developments in these practice areas through memberships in organizations such as NOVA. In addition to developing cases through careful investigation, including the review of medical records, interviews and collection of evidence he and the other lawyers at Jackson & MacNichol are trained litigators, with extensive experience representing clients in hearings, and with legal knowledge to write persuasive briefs.

In addition to representing veterans, Jack also helps people to obtain the Social Security disability benefits that they deserve.   While many lawyers who do Social Security disability work are intimidated by the federal courts and shy away from such cases, Jack and his firm regularly win cases in the courts. Mr. Jackson has now written a book, “How not to Lose your Social Security case” to help people in their disability cases.  When people hire his firm, Jackson & MacNichol, they know they’re getting lawyers who are not afraid to fight for justice for them.
