Paharpur Business Centre and Software Technology Incubator Park (PBCTM-STIP) in partnership with DDA collaborated with Sharika Enterprises, The Climate Reality Project- India and The Banyan Tree School to celebrate Earth Day at Nehru Place-An initiative to spread the message on saving our planet earth.
April 21, NPG Park, Nehru Place:  Paharpur Business Centre collaborated with The Banyan Tree School, The Climate Reality Project India & The Sharika Enterprises to celebrate the Earth Day & spread the message of conservation of natural resources like water, energy and also to increase the green cover.
Children and employees planted and watered saplings at the Nehru Place Greens (NPG) Park to mark the ocassion.
Mr. Ravi Singh, CEO & Secretary General, WWF- India, Mr. S. Padmanaban, Regional Director - South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy & Sr. Energy Advisor US Agency For International Development (USAID) – India, Dr. S. Majumdar, Senior Counsellor - Climate Change & Sustainability, CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, Mr. Aditya Pundir, Country Manager, The Climate Reality Project and Mr. Kamal Meattle, active environmentalist and CEO of Paharpur Business Centre, planted saplings on the occasion of the Earth Day.  They noted the essentiality of trees and green cover in the area, especially Nehru Place.
The children from Banyan Tree School were excited to plant saplings. A student from the school said that he had promised his parents to plant as many saplings because “plants turn into trees and trees are the green lungs of the Earth.” Another student quoted, “it is essential to create awareness about the impending climate crisis and to make people understand the need for utilizing more of renewable resources and thus saving our planet.” They enthusiastically watered the plants as well.
The Chief Executive Officer of Paharpur Business Centre, Mr. Kamal Meattle, is an active environmentalist and has initiated several activities for creating environmental awareness on a large scale.  “Climate change is the most challenging issue of the present century. Green ideas have to germinate in the young minds. It is the bounden duty of the enlightened minds to inculcate such values among the genre of citizenship. We all support the Earth Day effort and have to do our bit for the Earth," said Mr. Meattle on the occasion.
Mr. Ravi Singh, CEO & Secretary General, WWF- India while appreciating the endeavors of the PBC, said, “We are the owners of the earth and we are also the most dominating species on this earth therefore we should live with the environment with quality of life."
Mr. S. Padmanaban emphasized on 3 R’s i.e. Reduce- Reuse- Recycle, and quoted “You don’t inherit earth from ancestors but borrow it from children”
PBC joined hands with The Climate Reality Project India (TCRP) to promote environmental awareness. The Climate Reality Project- India is an independent chapter of Nobel laureate Al Gore’s international non-profit organization, which is into spreading awareness about impending climate crisis at the grass root level.  
Mr. Krishna Kalra, Honorary Director, the Climate Reality Project India said that “"We reap what we sow; therefore we have to generate our own environment in which we can breathe freely. We must all work together to save the environment and our planet. We need to create huge awareness at grass root level till each person knows about the harm carbon emissions and green house gases are inflicting on the earth. We owe it to our children and grand children, not to leave the planet - our only home - worse than we inherited it from our parents and grandparents."
Mr. Aditya Pundir, Country Manager, The Climate Reality Project- India (TCRP), said that Green initiatives have to encompass every aspect of our living and every citizen has to be a player and a stakeholder. We have to generate new ideations and concepts on climate change. Conservation and sustainable development strategies should be attempted and encouraged to curb the climate change impact.”
Sharika Enterprises, a LED lighting solutions emphasized on reducing energy consumption, contributing to preserving our great planet and taking the necessary steps to keep our Earth green. It mentioned the importance of LED lights, which minimizes the carbon footprint by reducing lighting consumption by 50-90% and maximizing the light output compared to Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs) and Incandescent lighting.
