April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Marina Klima Goldberg of Klima Design Group, is a talented Interior Designer that often hid among the fabric swatches and elegant furniture that are the calling cards of her business. However since she discovered the power of video marketing in her business, this once brilliant but reserved designer is now more comfortable sharing a bit of herself as well as her sense of style to potential clients. That ability to step out in front of the camera and get noticed allowed Marina to experience a 400% growth in her video views and got her phone ringing.

I recently caught up with Marina and asked her about her video marketing experience. I was curious about how she got started and what the real benefits were for her as the owner of a very personalized service such as interior design. I wanted to know how a small business in the service industry could use the benefits of marketing with video and if the time invested was worth it.

The Beginning: YouTube Videos and Marketing

Marina started video marketing about a year and half ago by simply posting her portfolio on YouTube. At that time there were a lot of online business marketing tips that advised people to use video to promote their business. However, nobody was really explaining HOW to market with video. But that didn’t stop Marina. She just posted videos and gave it a shot. Sometimes you have to learn by doing! At this point, what she learned was that the 150 views she got were mostly from friends and family. Nice, but not exactly the response she was hoping for.

Helpful Training from Video Traffic Academy

In the spirit of a true successful business, she persisted in her search to figure out this video marketing mystery. She invested in a course, Video Traffic Academy, created by Online Marketing and Video Expert James Wedmore. At a cost of less than $100, she hoped that this would give her at least some insight into the world of YouTube.

The result? After applying the video optimization and promotion techniques taught in the course, that same video that had received just 150 views earlier quickly received almost 6000 views. The reason, as Marina explains in her video was because she now understood that you have to take certain steps that will help your customers find your videos. As she explains, it’s like you are the owner of a trail. You have to get people on that trail and lead them to the destination or they will get lost in the forest of YouTube’s thousands of videos.

And it appears that Marina is getting very good at leading people to her video channel through video SEO. In the 30 day period from October –November 2011, she had just 321 visits to her site. After implementing the Video Traffic Academy system, she received 2733 visits in a 30 day period in the month of January, 2012. Additionally, people are not just stopping by and leaving quickly. On average, her analytics show that people are staying at her site for over 5 minutes. That’s an eternity in internet time!

Are there Any Hidden Benefits to Video Marketing?

There is an overlooked benefit to getting comfortable in front of the camera. Yes, video marketing will help build your brand as people become familiar with you and your company…that’s an obvious first line of benefits. However, as Marina explains, this newfound confidence in front of the camera also helps at social networking events. Prior to her adventure into video marketing she would attend trade shows and events but shy away from the camera when asked for testimonials or comments. The result would be that other business owners would get exposure when the event was promoted while Marina looked on from the sidelines, missing out on this free publicity.

No longer is this the case! Today Marina is more than happy to get in front of the camera and leverage the promotional opportunities that arise at such events.

What Kinds of Videos Market your Service?

Because interior design is very visual, it’s natural to showcase some of the projects she has worked on, including an award winning before and after Tuscan-styled room and French Cottage series. Other types of videos include an informative discussion about what do interior designers do, and Holiday table setting ideas. While there are just a handful of videos on her channel today, she has received over 90,000 views. And, more importantly, those views have resulted in conversions as new clients have watched the videos, fallen in love with her design talents, and picked up the phone to inquire about her services.
