The afternoon will begin with a VIP reception, showcasing wines from the Livermore Valley and culinary dishes from a special tasting menu created by Kelly McFarland and Julie Racine of The Winemaker's PourHouse. We are pleased to feature some of the best Livermore Valley wines including Steven Kent and La Rochelle wineries.
You will also get to mingle with the Cast and Crew from The Power of Two, a transformative film inspired by the memoir written by California native identical twins, Anabel & Isabel Stenzel, and our Caregiver of the Year, Carroll Jenkins. All while enjoying the soulful music of Chris LeBel, a Livermore resident and entertainer.
The Wine for a Cure event will raise money to provide funds for research necessary to find better life saving treatments and an eventual cure for cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is a fatal, genetic disease that affects over 30,000 children and young adults in the United States. There are dozens of families here in the East Bay who are currently dealing with this disease. In recent years, we have lost several of our residents and a committee member to CF. We are looking to you, our community, to help us fund this vital research before we lose any more of our children.
