Upcoming preteen novel raises environmental awareness without adding a brick in your toilet.
Adding another brick in the toilet tank for Earth Day will not save the environment, thinks Leo in "Kea, The Third Way", the upcoming adventure and fantasy, preteen novel from Alki Nea. Leo has more pressing matters, like saving his friend's life.
PRLog - Apr. 20, 2012 - KAILUA, Hawaii -- Kea and Leo have known each other since kindergarten. They live in a peaceful - though rather dull at times - American suburb. Leo's mom environmentally conscious ways don't really concern Leo, until that day, when Kea changes and their lives are turned upside down. The two friends are thrown into a fast paced adventure that leads them into an astonishing world where everything is different from life on Earth. Only then, they realize that our planet, the Earth, is threatened by a massive life extinction similar to the one that wiped out all dinosaurs, 65 million years ago; the Holocene extinction. Only this time, it is us, humans, who are endangering the delicate balance of nature.
"Kea, The Third Way" is a 9-13 years old novel that immerses the young reader into what could be the planet when they will be adults. Adventure, fantasy, action and friendship abound in this novel, proving that wars and ubber villains are not necessary in a great entertaining story, one with a message that will linger in the mind of the reader long after closing the book.
"Kea, The Third Way" will be available in May 2012 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
