NYC Basketball Hall of Famer, NCAA Phenom & NBA All-Star, Kenny Anderson Turns Fatherhood Advocate

April 20, 2012 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, New York- As the New Jersey Nets make final arrangements before their highly anticipated move to Brooklyn, some of the franchise’s most memorable talents will be honored.  Monday, April 23, 2012 marks the final home game before the Nets of NJ, go BK.  Center court, amidst the likes of Julius Erving, Derrick Coleman and Rick Barry will be Kenny Anderson.

Chosen 2nd overall by the NJ Nets, Anderson was a first round NBA Draft pick in 1991.  Having seen some of his biggest highlights and spending the bulk of his professional career in a Nets uniform, the sale and move pique mixed emotions from the 1994 All-Star. Kenny states, “I spent a lot of good years in New Jersey. I’ll always follow the Nets franchise; it’s where I got my start (in the NBA). On the other hand, it’s a great look to see them move to Brooklyn. New York is the perfect market to have two NBA teams. But who knows? Maybe sometime down the road, the fans will demand the return of a New Jersey team.”

In addition to bidding a fond farewell to the New Jersey franchise, Kenny will be having a press conference preceding the game.  Since departing the NBA, life’s classroom has molded Kenny into the proud family man that he is today.  Kenny will be announcing his involvement as co-founder and national spokesperson for a unique brand of fatherhood and youth mentoring program.  Slated to serve the tri-state area, then expand to various national and international markets, the organization is poised for greatness of varied magnitudes.

Also being announced is Kenny’s affiliation with Jarrod Greene, CEO of PASS THE ROC.  This partnership emerged in an effort to promote PASS THE ROC, an athletic lifestyle and apparel line, to a broader audience.  Leaning on each other’s career experiences, this business venture is a mutually beneficial marriage of aficionado and professional, creating basketball’s newest “dynamic duo.”
