Follow on Google News | General Motors Going Green With New Lighting FixturesThe largest automotive company in the world plans to cut electricity cost by changing out their lighting fixtures.
By: Johnnie Dice - Chevy Camaro TV The lights that are being replaced are in the buildings that will soon be producing the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox and the Ecotec 2.5L engine, and will be installed in the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. Ken Knight, a manufacturing complex manager recently stated how by replacing older lighting it enables them to significantly conserve energy and easily save money. The new fixtures has the latest technology in building lighting which enables the building and plants to optimize lighting to various specified tasks and reduces lighting during non-production hours. A second phase of the lighting project will be done later this year. The combined savings will help the company from having to pay more than $1.3 million a year in electricity costs.
