'Southland' Star Dorian Missick Signs With Los Angeles Boutique Firm Premier Concepts

After working with a larger agency for the past decade, he has chosen to take a new direction with his career. Missick is known for his roles in many feature films, and television dramas. Currently he plays, Detective Ruben Robinson, partner to notable actress Regina King, on TNT’s cop drama, “Southland” produced by Warner Bros. Television. Although, he has appeared in several movies and TV series his goal now is to branch out to a more diverse audience and increase his visibility to fans and the media.

Best known for his role as Damian in Six Degrees, Missick has appeared in multiple television shows including Sons of Anarchy, Law & Order and The Cape.  Recently, he played Professor Jamal in the critically acclaimed and award-winning film, “Mooz-lum.” His roles in films such as Premium, The Manchurian Candidate and Lucky Number Slevin have also won him critical acclaim and various other accolades.

Missick recently wrapped production on “Things Never Said” opposite Omari Hardwick and Tamala Jones and stars as the lead character John in “Big Words”, a film surrounding events of election day in Brooklyn set to film in New York this May.

New Jersey born and raised, Dorian Missick is no stranger to the camera. From a very early age, Missick had a passion for entertaining which stemmed from his parents. Starting his acting career in 2001, he was quick to land a role alongside Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in Two Weeks’ Notice. In 2010, he also landed a role in Bounty Hunter starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. When Dorian isn’t busy acting, he enjoys participating in all sports, music, cooking, and social commentary.
