Attorney Keith Merritt to Give Free April 26th Lecture on Bankruptcy

   Lakeland attorney Keith Merritt will give the first in a series of free consumer law seminars on Thursday, April 26th at 6:00 PM.  The first lecture is located at the Lakeland Public Library, Larry Jackson branch, 1700 N. Florida Avenue.

   The seminar, entitled “A Fresh Start Through Bankruptcy,” covers the bankruptcy process from the initial filing to the final discharge of debts. Mr. Merritt will explain the differences between a Chapter 7 and a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, what to expect from your case, and alternatives to bankruptcy. He will also take questions as time permits.

   Mr. Merritt’s law firm, Merritt Law Office, P.A., has focused on helping the consumer. Besides bankruptcy law, the firm handles foreclosure defenses, loan modifications and creditor protection through the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
