By: Em Henry Events improve the physical, mental, and emotional health of individuals with Sarcoidosis in Southern Maryland, will host their inaugural Walk for Lung Health on Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Indian Head Rail Trail in White Plains, MD. All community partners are welcome to walk either as an individual, or as a family, corporate or school team. The tax deductable registration fee, which comes with a free Walk to Lung Health tshirt, is only $20.00 per person in advance and $30.00 the day of the event. Children under the age of 10 free. Sign-in begins at 8 am and the walk will start promptly at 9 am. For those that would like to support this valuable event, but unable to walk, there are also great volunteer and sponsorship opportunities still available. The purpose of this 3K walk is to heighten awareness of Sarcoidosis in the Southern Maryland Community. Funds will benefit the Ken Sanders Foundation, so they may continue to financially support the Sarcoidosis Group of Southern Maryland and the National Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research. “Participating in the Walk for Lung Health will be a great opportunity to both aid those affected by this fatal disease and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forests, wetlands and farmland” says Kenneth Sanders, Executive Trustee of the Ken Sanders Foundation and Sarcoidosis sufferer.
