Global Elite Group Provides Nationwide Security Screenings for NCAA Basketball

The single elimination basketball tournament is held each spring in the U.S. involving upwards of 68 college teams.  This month-long battle takes place throughout the country and helping to get the teams to their destinations was the responsibility of Global Elite Group. “It was thrilling to be part of this season’s excitement. The NCAA contacted the Global Elite Group for its aviation security screening service. Global Elite provides in-house airport screening and is a licensed TSA provider of this service through its aviation security management division, Global completed all the necessary screening information in confidence. The company’s agents are all BST (Basic Screening Training) certified. “This is a highly regulated industry and our agents are in complete compliance with these stringent requirements. Our agents perform the walk-through using our own metal detectors and hand-wand equipment at private areas of airports,” McGuire stated.

This service was very important for the athletes as most travelled on charter airlines at locations throughout the country. “Our service was on-standby at over 20 locations and staffed by 5 to 10 screening personnel.  Global has offices at 17 airports so getting the screening done, even if it involved traveling was easily accomplished,” Bryan Davis, Director of Sales and Marketing, stated. The March Madness mindset also extended to the companies involved with any facet of this quick paced tournament. “Last minute requests for services are the norm, teams are coming and going at a very rapid pace and then it tapers down. In some cases we were only given a few hours to get ready to get to a team for screening.”

Communications is the key to success in getting all members of the team organized and on their way. Global security personnel handle the details of getting entire groups screened and transported to their waiting flights. Player safety between venues is a concern but so too is handling the fans and keeping them from getting too close. “We coordinate every detail to make sure there isn’t a bottle neck in the screening and transportation process. It is a mad dash for all involved and with all modes of communications available, we worked 24-hours a day during this time to make sure the players got to their next games,” McGuire added.
