The Pasadena Youth Center is on a mission to help high school Latinas beat those odds by preparing these young women for promising careers. On Saturday, April 21-st Pasadena City College will be transformed into an educational incubator for close to two-thousand girls taking part in the Pasadena Youth Center’s 18th Annual Adelante Mujer Latina Conference, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The middle and high school students represent schools from throughout California, many accompanied by their mothers and teachers. Close to 148 professional Latina’s will share their expertise in workshops specializing in college preparation and a wide variety of careers to inspire girls to pursue their career dreams. Exhibitors from universities and colleges, business and community provide information on financial aid, internships. Over the last 17 years, 20,000 girls have been introduced to an array of career options while meeting successful Latina professionals. Many of our alumni have gone on to attend Ivy League Colleges, served in political office and have attained leadership positions in major corporations. Many thanks to our sponsors this year.
