April 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Yakible Digital Publications continues to drive home the point that you do not need massive amounts of financial investment in order to participate in the growing digital media publishing market.  The time has passed when:  producing, marketing, and distributing digital publications could only be performed by a select few.

Digital publishing is an open market that is growing by leaps and bounds as evidenced by the number of digital magazines that have appeared on the scene in the last 12 months.

“We are by no means a major player in the monthly periodical space but we are growing at a rapid rate, in terms of distribution and readership.  Surprisingly our initial investment and ongoing costs have been relatively low.  Ad revenue is increasing and we are on target to bringing in additional sales support, overall the barrier to entry has been significantly reduced,” said Delwyn Smith, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief.

“A mix of affordable development tools, hosting, and virtual staff has allowed Yakible to exist.  In a 4 month period, we have been able to redefine our demographic with the US, Philippines, and Brazil, age 18-24 market being the primary targets. Amazingly, the message of the magazine and newsletter has resonated with our readers. We are by no means able to compete with the major publishing houses but then again, many of them first established themselves in print, built up their reader and subscription base, then moved their readers to the digital  version of their publications. In the first quarter of 2012, we have increased our global circulation to over 1.7 million, now is the time we focus on doing a better job to monetize our content.”

Yakible is a group of digital publications that can be read online, offline, or in print.  The publications can be read on the following platforms:  Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, Linux, iPad, iPhone, and eReader devices.  It uses the latest technology that many other flip magazine products do not possess and that is HTML5.  While other products use Adobe Flash (does not work on iPad’s and other Apple IOS devices), Yakible uses both Flash and HTML5 so that readers can gain the full experience regardless of the operating system or hardware they use.

A closer look into the operations of Yakible revealed; solid business processes, an infrastructure that remains lean, moderate acquisition and conversion rates, and technology many publications do not come close to possess, including but not limited to support for:  audio, flash video, hyperlinks, file downloading, and social media tools.   Yakible is able to generate traffic by carefully placed online advertising, social networking, and its own news distribution site.  In addition, Yakible has automated its advertising purchase process to allow advertisers to serve themselves 24 hours a day.

Do not miss Yakible’s tribute to Entertainment in their May 2012 issue.
