Family owned for two generations, PSI was one of 20 winners for The Daily Herald Business Ledger’s prestigious 2012 award.
Deborah Riha said she is extremely honored to receive the award and gives credit to her hard-working staff. “This award would not have been possible without the commitment of every member of the PSI staff. Customer service is at the core of our company," Riha said.
Priority Services, Inc. has been in business since 1973 and was founded by Deborah's parents Bill and Barbara Norton. In 1998, the business experienced a setback when Bill was diagnosed with cancer. At that time, Deborah and her husband, Jason Riha, college sweethearts, took over the day-to-day operations. Deborah knew the administrative side and Jason had worked on the docks after college, but neither had solid business experience. Taking on the rigors of a trucking business soon gave them, as Deborah says, “…better than a Harvard education.”
Over the last 40 years, PSI has built a reputation for excellence with accurate and on time deliveries as well as award winning customer service. The business was recently awarded Guitar Center's Carrier of the Year for 2011. PSI's clients also include Limitedbrands, Argix Direct, Payless ShoeSource and many other specialty retailers.
