"We are very proud to have been asked to be a part of the team of community leaders that will raise needed funds to fight this terrible disease,” said Bob Simpson. As a cancer survivor himself, Simpson understands firsthand the importance of raising money for cancer programs and research. “We will be asking all our friends and colleagues in Lee County to join us in supporting this event.”
LeeSar was a first-time sponsor, and the Simpsons first-time guests, at the ninth-annual Cattle Barons’ Ball held on January 21st. The upscale hoedown successfully raised $254,000 for research, education and programs for local residents, including summer camp tuition for children with cancer and college scholarships for teen survivors. Since its first event in Lee County, the Cattle Barons’ Ball has raised more than $3.2 million.
Planning has already begun for the 10th annual event. Anyone interested in learning more or volunteering to help with the 2013 Cattle Barons’ Ball can contact the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org or (239) 936-1113.
