Harpeth Springaroo Benefit Concert Planned for Saturday, May 19

Kingston Springs, TN Community of Volunteers Raise Funds for Cancer Relief with Benefit Concert - Access by River or Road

April 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Kingston Springs, TN… Harpeth Springaroo is a cancer relief benefit planned for Saturday, May 19th along the Harpeth River. The venue, a 20 acre privately owned field is located close to downtown Kingston Springs with access near 1450 West Kingston Springs Road.  Known locally as “Liles Bottom” there is access to the event by river or road via the Harpeth River as it is situated at the mouth of Turnbull Creek and the scenic Harpeth River.

The benefit concert, scheduled from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., will feature some of the most promising emerging bands and established talent in middle Tennessee. Nashville and the surrounding vicinity is filled with talented musicians and songwriters that are equal to any in the world, and on Saturday, May 19 multiple local bands and acoustic performers have gathered to support this worthy cause. Music of most every genre: Blues, Americana, Folk, Rock, Latin and Bluegrass will be represented and has been graciously coordinated by Amy Bruce and Katie Conley, proprietors of Red Tree Coffee in Kingston Springs, TN.  

Spokesperson, Leslie Allen says, “This benefit is being organized to support five people in our community battling cancer that range in age from their early twenties to early fifties. Kingston Springs is an incredibly close knit community full of talented and caring people that have a huge heart.  Our community is quick to respond to people in need. I am so thankful to the many volunteers that have pitched in to make this event a reality.”

The benefit is for several people in the area with cancer, including: Sue Hasse, Cheslie Wilson, Jeremy Hinton, and Jackie Linder. All net funds will be distributed to these cancer patients to use at their discretion.

Harpeth Springaroo will have burgers and bar-b-que available for purchase throughout the day and will have a silent auction of many great items including a painting by renowned artist, Henry Isaacs of the Harpeth River Bottom.  It is advisable to bring a lawn chair and to car pool to this event.  The cost for admission is $10 per person.  Kids 12 and under are free. Purchase of food and drink is extra.

Wrist bands are being sold at local businesses for $10 for all day access to the event located at Liles River Bottom. The green wrist bands are available for purchase at Heritage Bank, Community Bank & Trust (Kingston Springs and Pegram), Kingston Springs Pharmacy, Kingston Springs Animal Hospital, Salon 102, Sections-A Salon, Red Tree Coffee, The Fillin’ Station, Foggy Bottom Canoe and El Jardin Restaurant and other local businesses.

Both a Facebook community page entitled Harpeth Springaroo and a Facebook event page has been created to keep up-to-date communications about the benefit.  Financial donations can be made to Community Bank & Trust in support of this benefit. All net proceeds will be distributed equally. Heritage Bank in Kingston Springs, TN is accepting silent auction items.

Directions from Nashville, TN: Take I-40 West, to Exit 188, and make a right (NW) onto Luyben Hills Road, turn left at West Kingston Springs Road, turn right at N. Main Street, take left onto West Kingston Springs Road (Audrey Beck Town Hall on right) at stop sign, travel over Turnbull Creek, turn right over the railroad track bridge and make an immediate right onto gravel road.  Parking space is limited so please consider car-pooling for this event. Access to the event will begin at 9:30 a.m.
