PRLog -- Mount Laurel, NJ - The Wyndham Philadelphia-
Mount Laurel just completed its 756 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system installation and the system is live after successful interconnection to its local utility provider. This project is among the one of the largest lodging solar PV installations in the United States.
The Wyndham Philadelphia-
Mount Laurel is the first of twenty plus hotels in the Mount Laurel area to install a solar PV system to provide a significant portion of its electricity demands. Its 756 kW solar PV system has been installed in its parking lot on carport structures, which will provide approximately 50% of its electricity needs producing an estimated 850,000 to 900,000 kWh of electricity.
The Wyndham will be reducing its carbon footprint annually by 1.6 million pounds of carbon dioxide. This tremendous reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases is the equivalent of removing 131 cars from the roadways annually or planting 168 acres of trees.
“This is one of many initiatives that we have undertaken to make our business more sustainable”
, says Rishi Shah, General Manager of the Wyndham Philadelphia-
Mount Laurel. “Sustainability is a critical part of our business as it is important to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
