Tragedy struck the Pandolfi family on Christmas morning of 2011, when a fire consumed their home, burning down to the ground with the family’s belongings inside. While no one was hurt, Emile revealed that they “lost two wonderful dogs” in the fire. Emile is well-loved in the Greenville, South Carolina community and that was clearly evidenced in the days and weeks following the fire. Emile had nothing but sincere praise and thanks for the people who helped the family through the crisis including neighbors, friends, strangers, firefighters and the Red Cross. “This is a public thank you to all of you who helped us throughout the day. There are too many of you to thank personally. I don’t even know some of your names, so please, if you read this, pass our thanks along to those we may not have had a chance to thank personally,” In apt recognition of Emile's immense contributions to the community over the years, The Peace Center in Greenville, SC decided to sponsor a benefit concert on the family’s behalf.
