In a historic move forward, the city of Tuxla Gutierrez changed the old public transport ‘combis’ (see the picture below) for modern buses, biodiesel-propelled, acclimatized and provided with pre-pay and real-time geo-location devices, of the type BRT (Bus Rapid Transit).
Two full lines have been configured, both transversal north-south and east-west, and giving service to the main passengers transport routes.
The main challenge here consisted on the authomatization of a transport network where little or no information was available. There were no defined stops, nor any reliable information about frequency and demand volume, and so on.
With the help of the fast-output tool GoalBus®, it was possible to iterate progressive adjustments in real time, in order to adapt the solutions to the feedback that was being obtained during the first days of the go live operation. With GoalDriver®, the new drivers’ payroll will be fairly assigned with their corresponding amount of days off, notwithstanding keeping the quality of the service provided.
Other large BRT systems currently using our technology are Transmilenio (Bogotá), Transantiago (Santiago de Chile) and Macrobus (Guadalajara)
Apart from Macrobus, GOAL SYSTEMS programming tools are already being used in Grupo ADO (Mexico D.F.), Transpais (Tamaulipas)
