Follow on Google News | “365 Days of Clay Cups” – YouTube Artist’s Yearlong Video Project Gets Gallery ShowingHobby potter, Tammy Jo Schoppet exhibits the complete work created for the 2011 Youtube video project "365 Days of Clay Cups”.
By: behalf of Hobby Potter A yearlong project. From January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011, Tammy Jo set out on an unconventional journey to improve and grow her pottery making skills. By creating one cup for every day of the year and posting daily videos to YouTube, she was able to gain critiques and instructions of potters from all over the world. She considers this project a team effort as is shown in her final cup designed using the names of those who provided inspiration. This inclusive exhibit shows each cup’s progression as her skills changed throughout the year. You’ll see the successes as well as the broken cups. “These are what I like to call my growth moments and not failures.” says Schoppet. “You’ll see the full body of my learning process from Day 1 to Day 365, the good and the bad!” On April 19, 2011 at 6-9pm there will be an Open Artists Reception and at 7pm Tammy Jo will be doing an Artist Talk where she will be discussing the project along with a throwing demonstration to coincide with Modesto’s 3rd Thursday Art Walk. These cups will be on display and sale until May 31, 2012 at the Chartreuse Muse Art Gallery, 918 Tenth Street Modesto, CA, (209)-522-0935 If you would like to watch the video project online or see the before and after photos you can visit Tammy Jo’s Website http://www.HobbyPotter.com or on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/ # # # HobbyPotter.com is an online publication focusing on sharing ceramic resources and information for clay enthusiasts.
