April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Rachel Hoyt, the author of Rhyme Me a Smile (www.rhymemeasmile.blogspot.com), is holding a free poetry contest. (http://rhymemeasmile.blogspot.com/2012/04/monday-fun-day-lung-love-rhyme-contest.html) from April 16th to April 21, 2012.

Each year on her grandmother's birthday, Rachel pays tribute to her grandma (whom she believes gave her rhyming DNA) by hosting a poetry contest to encourage smoking cessation.  As one who still struggles to stand strong against smoking, Rachel allows both smokers and non-smokers to participate in the contest.  Most smokers have tried to quit at least once and can bring wonderful wisdom and humor to the subject.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries.  All three winners will receive a one year subscription to the author's new photo-poetry zine (aka a poetocard subscription).  Each winner will also receive a coupon to purchase candles, crochet items, or additional poetocard subscriptions at the Homemade by Hoyt etsy shop.

All types of submissions are allowed (previously published, simultaneous submissions, blog posts, non-author entries, etc.).

I write wacky news and weird facts in rhyme to help adults have a good time. I'm always rhyming because I believe it helps induce smiling.
