Amplifrom Roofing Structure
Rapid Building Solutions ‘Ampliform roofing structure’ was ideal for this application. The aesthetics of the arch shape of the structure fits perfectly into the requirements of a worship hall. The arch shape also creates a large internal air volume to ensuring better stability of the internal air temperature.
The aluminium structural members ensure that the building will be maintenance free. Structural Aluminium is perfect in this environment therefore no pre-protection is required nor is any routine maintenance required.
The building was designed at 33.5m wide x 50m long. The maximum width that the free span Ampliform roofing structure can go is 45m but the length is unlimited, a larger structure did not suit the layout for this application. The easy to erect structure can be clad in a number of different ways, all depending on the customers requirements.
DLC opted for a Cromadek roof sheet with an insulation membrane placed above the purlins, this is great for this type of application. Other sheeting options include aluminium or zincalume. Sheeting was placed all round to eave height with the sides and gables being filled in with either brick or glass with aluminium.
The structure is quick and easy to erect and does not require heavy lifting equipment for its erection. It is therefore possible to erect buildings in hard to access areas at a reasonable price.
