Located in the heart of downtown Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, founded in 1861, is a nonprofit organization that holds over two hundred performances annually most of international origin, serves over 24,000 students and 200 NYC schools annually, and celebrates the largest commutative Dr. Martin Luther King Tributes event in New York City. During its first century, BAM hosted political events, speeches, and rallies on the pressing issues of the day including speeches by Henry Beecher Stowe, Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth, and Frank Lloyd Wright. Lachi and Meridian Gold wish to spread their message of ‘Lead with Love’ to the BAM legacy. “To lead with love,” Lachi states, “is to see the force of love as strength, and to use that strength as the leading force in all decisions. Love is not just affection or compassion, it is the one positive force that is lacking in most of our lives, and we wish to be the change by spreading this message through the best form of philosophical communication we know how....through music.
With insightful yet catchy lyrics, haunting melodies, anthemic hooks and phat guitar riffs along with a great propensity to connect with their growing fan base, a high-energy, memorable performance is the standard for Lachi and Meridian Gold. Don’t miss this great opportunity to catch them live for a free set at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s BAM Café Live Music Series on April 20th at 9pm.
