April 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Notes From The New World starring Hollywood actress Natasha Blasick has been submitted to the 2012 Odessa International Film Festival. The Fest, taking place in July, is held at the historic Odessa Opera House. Inspired by Anton Chekhov's novella Notes From The Underground the film is reworked into a modern day Los Angeles, California setting by director Vitaly Sumin.

The shooting of the movie was an immersive experience. Actors were expected to write extensive background dossiers on their character to bring shade and depth to their portrayals. Combined with abundant rehearsals and a demanding shooting schedule the film left an indelible impression on Blasick. "It took over two years from first rehearsal to my final looping session. We all put our hears and souls into making Vitaly's vision come to life".

Blasick composed the song, "My Soul" which she performs onscreen in Russian, her native language. She also acted in Spanish for parts of the film.

The entire cast and crew are looking forward to acceptance into the Odessa International Film Festival. Says Ms. Blasick "It would be a thrill to be screened in Odessa, a real coming home for me".
