Tom Napiontek Places Trust in the Malaysian Red Crescent

April 15, 2012 - PRLog -- TORONTO, CANADA – When the northeastern shores, townships and cities of Japan were ravaged by a 8.9 earthquake and ensuing tsunami in 2011, thousands of lives were forever changed. It immediately became the responsibility of organizations like the Malaysian Red Crescent and Japan’s Red Cross to step-in and provide much-needed relief. Everyday citizens, such as Tom Napiontek also took it upon themselves to make a difference.

In March 2011, the northeastern coast of Japan was ravaged by an 8.9 earthquake and a tsunami so large it swept away entire villages and took the lives of thousands of people. Organizations such as the Malaysian Red Crescent, on behalf of Japan’s Red Cross—a division of the International Federation of Red Cross—began an earnest campaign to raise relief funds for the more than 90,000 affected families.

The campaign, which began just shortly after the catastrophic event, included a goal of raising nearly $500 million, all with very deliberate intentions, including: providing immediate release, elderly and medical support, recovery to survivors, economic revitalization, and education support. It was toward these efforts that Napiontek made his contribution.

"It is simply impossible to try and imagine the impact and event like this has on one’s life," says Napointek. "I can’t fathom the devastation and loss; all I can do is my very best to provide what I hope is some relief from the heartbreak so the people of Japan can rebuild, heal and move forward."
