Tom Napiontek Lends a Hand to the Harbour Light Soup Kitchen

April 15, 2012 - PRLog -- VANCOUVER, CANADA -- When people think of Tom Napiontek, they most likely think of a real estate enthusiast and bright minded financier. What people may not know about him, however, is that he is also a true philanthropist. Tom has a passion for nonprofits, especially those with a dedication to his local community, so he spends a good portion of his free time supporting various charities, organizations, and foundations. One such organization is the Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light Soup Kitchen.

Mr. Napiontek and several colleagues recently came together for an entire day spent helping prep and prepare food, as well as serve a crowd of some very deserving individuals. Beginning the day with moving boxes and organizing the back kitchen and pantry areas, Napiontek and other volunteers then moved into position to serve very deserving individuals. Known as the place where the homeless and shelterless come to find refuge, Napiontek values the time spent at Harbour Light and sees it as a mutually beneficial for all involved.

"The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbor light is an amazing organization that does a lot for our community," says Mr. Napiontek. "We've been volunteering there as a group for quite some time and will continue to do so as long as they will have us. I thoroughly enjoy the relationships built with the other volunteers as well as the extremely kind individuals we are there to serve."

The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Life Soup Kitchen is a permanent facility that was created as a way to provide a warm, healthy meal to individuals over the age of 19 who are without a home or shelter, and often those who have or continue to suffer from addiction to chemical substances. Other services provided by this organization include health obtaining shelter, the availability of a substance abuse recovery program, opportunities for employment, and more.
