PRLog - April 15, 2012 - Jeddah, 8th April 2012- LG Electronics launched today the awareness campaign of safe drive in Saudi Arabia by a visit of Mr. James Park, LG's Regional CEO & Mr. John Lee, President of LG Electronics, KSA and participated personally in the blood donation campaign organized by LG Electronics & partners in KSA for the 2nd consecutive year which toke place in King Faisal Specialist Hospital & research Center in Jeddah represented by Dr. Nabeel Al Baz, Managing Director of Blood Bank & Dr. Tariq Linjawi, Chief Operating Officer of KFSHRC.
Blood donation campaign
As part of its ongoing commitment towards supporting the society& increasing the awareness of the importance of safe drive in the kingdom. The company dedicated special days whereby management and employees from its different departments, took part in this noble cause, this year 125 employees from LG & partners (Shaker &Naghi Co.) have voluntarily participated in the campaign.
Mr. James Park, LG's Regional CEO said, the purpose of this campaign is to support car accident patients & wishing them a fast recovery.LG have decided to start it with the blood donation campaign since Saudi Arabia is the first country that has minimum no of blood donors, most of the blood required is imported from other countries to fill in the gap. Also according to the official announcements, Saudi Arabia is among the top 10 countries globally in the number of road accidents, hence, LG Electronics in order to give back to the community came up with this CSR initiative& awareness campaign which will be continued in many other cities in KSA.
Mr. John Lee ,president of LG Electronics KSA said,“The effort is expected to encourage our employees, who have shown extreme enthusiasm to participate in the safe drive campaign &donate blood, to heighten their responsibilities as good citizens and to be active participants in the extra-curricular activities, especially those of humanitarian and social nature. Part of our corporate programme is to ensure we give something back to the community we serve” Underlining the importance of safe driving, Mr. John Lee appreciated the efforts of the employees who volunteered participated in the campaign.
Within the framework of the campaign "My safety, My responsibility"
to enrich the awareness of young people from the risk of accidents and in response to this aspect LG Electronics Saudi Arabia is planning to conduct various activities to
increase the doses of awareness and achieve the objectives of the campaign, my safety, my responsibility among the category of youth to reduce the number of the injured from car accidents specifically among young drivers that represent the majority of car accident's victims in Saudi Arabia.
