Where Did The Great Artists Find Their Inspiration?

What do Paul McCartney, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Cher, James Brown, Kylie Minogue, and Take That have in common? Other than their enormous success, of course!

April 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Many times in the music industry, a single person's creativity has touched people's lives, inspired other artists and also made millions of dollars.  You'll hear many stories about how number one chart toppers were seemingly written by accident, but there is a secret to these moments of genius!

Being creative, and writing great music is a skill. But where do these moment of inspiration come from you ask?  Well, becoming creative, and entering a creative mindset is also a skill. Once this is done, the ideas start flowing.

To answer the question asked earlier, what do many of the biggest name of the twentieth century have in common?  They used these skills. And they all learned them from the same place, or I should, from the same person.

Dr. Richard Niles has been a successful and respected composer, producer, arranger and songwriter for over 35 years. His unique career spans pop, R&B and jazz working with such artists as Paul McCartney, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Cher, James Brown, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Michael McDonald, Take That, Pat Metheny, Bob Mintzer and Bob James. Based in London, he has also been an acclaimed broadcaster for the BBC, writing and producing music documentaries. He is also a judge of the UK Songwriting Contest.

Niles received his PhD from Brunel University and has delivered many Masterclasses in Britain and the US (Berkley College of Music, USC, UCLA and CalState University). Niles has now moved back to his native California and has launched his unique educational website, The Niles Creative Workshops which teaches artists how to write songs.

Niles explains, “I impart my 36 years of experience in the professional music world in over 90 videos. I discuss Songwriting using my own system, The Eleven Point Plan. My Record Production videos show how to conceive, plan and budget – and most importantly how to evaluate an artist and choose their material. I’ve written the arrangements for over 40 hits and in my Arranging videos I’ll give students my techniques and concepts. I’ve discovered artists and given them international success.
