Queen to Queen, Inc. Announces Executive Board

April 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Savage, MD – The founders of Queen to Queen, Inc. announced Jessica Canty and Shevaun McGlone as executive board members. The new additions round out the organization’s leadership as Queen to Queen grows in membership and renews its efforts to engage the historically black college and university (HBCU) community.

“Jessica and Shevaun are exactly what and who we need to bring our ideas for Queen to Queen to fruition. As board members, they represent the interests of the organization and work to bring the best possible opportunities to our members,” said Queen to Queen Co-founder Latiera Streeter.

Queen to Queen, Inc. is a professional development and networking organization for current and former queens of HBCUs and professional African-American women. Established by two former queens of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, the organization aims to advance the professional and academic pursuits of the African-American community.

Canty serves as the president and chair of Reigning Royalty, the organization’s HBCU-focused program initiative. Reigning Royalty connects current HBCU queens and African-American college women with Queen to Queen members, local networking opportunities, and professional development workshops to prepare them for the workforce.

“Not only does Jessica have previous experience running a not-for-profit organization geared towards queens of HBCUs but she has the determination and nationally-recognized presence in the HBCU community to take us to the next level.”

McGlone is the chair of Public Relations and acts as the organization’s media spokesperson, communications strategist, and brand manager.

“Shevaun has been in the public relations field for nearly a decade working with not-for-profits, commercial, and government clients and she brings so much to the table,” said Anisah Rasheed, Co-founder of the organization. “I’m excited to have her on the team promoting Queen to Queen and helping us establish a strong brand and true presence.”
