Follow on Google News | US Airways Magazine Features Carlisle Events/Cumberland Valley in April IssueWith the help of US Airways Magazine, Carlisle Events and the entire Cumberland Valley are known worldwide via the April edition of the airlines' magazine.
By: Carlisle Events What started as a whim of a phone call in January evolved into a feature story available to more than 3.1 million travelers. The article, entitled "Hidden Splendor," is available online via http://www.usairwaysmag.com/ Initial planning for the content took place in January as representatives from the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau, Carlisle Events, the U.S. Army Heritage and Educational Center and Cumberland County Economic Development hosted US Airways staff at the Army Heritage Center in Carlisle. During the 3-plus hour discussion, each organization shared what makes the Cumberland Valley a unique destination. After the meeting, US Airways' editors and writers remained in contact with the organizations and interviewed other business owners and residents to develop the stories. Carlisle Events shared contact information with multiple enthusiasts for interview purposes, provided photos and historical information on the company as well as bought in to co-op advertising offered by the CVVB. "In aiming for growth during the Carlisle Events lineup we felt compelled to think outside the box," noted Carlisle Events co-owner Lance Miller. "US Airways Magazine is one step, of many, in moving towards our goal of improving awareness of our events nationally and internationally." Carlisle Events co-founder and co-owner Bill Miller Jr. added, "The Cumberland Valley is so rich in American history and Carlisle Events is proud to be part of it. Next year will be the 40th season and with the second generation well established into the events, we are expanding our horizons. 2013 promises something new and different that will appeal to a whole new market segment." With April's issue already on planes and online and with the 2012 Carlisle Events season launching April 25 with Spring Carlisle, staff and followers of Carlisle Events are excited from a timing standpoint. With international promotion and exposure to travelers of all backgrounds, the "Hidden Splendor" of what Carlisle Events is all about will be on full display for the world to see. # # # About Carlisle Events: Carlisle Events, producer of 11 annual collector car, truck and motorcycle events, attracts more than half a million people to its Pennsylvania based shows annually.
