BioVision introduces Two New Aldehyde Dehydrogenase (ALDH) Activity Assay Kits

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 16, 2012 - Aldehyde Dehydrogenase (ALDH) Activity Colorimetric Assay Kit provides a simple, sensitive, fast, reliable and convenient method for measuring the ALDH enzymatic activity in a variety of biological samples such as Cell and Tissue culture supernatants, cell lysates, plasma, serum, etc. In this assay, acetaldehyde is oxidized by ALDH generating NADH, which then reduces a colorless probe to generate a colored product with strong absorbance at 450 nM. The assay can detect < 0.5 mU of ALDH activity. This assay is also suitable for high throughput analysis.

PicoProbe™ Aldehyde Dehydrogenase (ALDH) Activity Assay Kit also offers a simple, highly sensitive, fast, reliable and convenient method for fluorometrically measuring the ALDH enzymatic activity in a variety of biological samples. In this assay, acetaldehyde is oxidized by ALDH to form the NADH which couples with the PicoProbe to generate a potent fluorescence (Ex/Em = 537/587). The assay is > 10 fold more sensitive than the colorimetric assay and can detect < 0.05 mU ALDH activity. This assay is also suitable for high throughput analysis.
