PRLog - April 12, 2012 - OAK PARK, Ill. -- The countdown has begun for the official launch of the Green Home Experts Eco-Garden Center on Saturday, May 5th. Shelves are being stocked with the fair weather obsessions of the veteran gardener – annuals, perennials, edibles, and those must-have garden accessories. But the heart of GHE’s Eco-Garden Center belongs to the beginner gardener. By tackling the self-doubt and fear that holds back a prospective beginner gardener from experiencing the pure joy of gardening, GHE expects to vastly increase the number of novice gardeners within their west suburban community.
Blooms and edibles fill GHE Eco-Garden Center
Commenting on the new Eco-Garden Center, GHE-owner Maria Onesto Moran says, “The documented research and local buzz tell us that there are a lot of wannabe gardeners in the community. But the idea of getting started seems overwhelming to them. When they walk into a traditional garden center, a feeling of inadequacy overcomes them and they end up walking out. Green Home Experts is going to change all of that by taking the fear and confusion out of gardening for the beginner gardeners and get them off to a great start.”
The antithesis of the “big box” garden centers, GHE’s Eco-Garden Center will be an earth spa for those who like to get their hands dirty, and for those who want to experience the joy of gardening while leaving behind a smaller environmental footprint.
An avid gardener herself, Onesto Moran added a new garden center manager to the GHE team to ensure that customers get the knowledge and attention that they need and deserve. The new garden center manager, Eve Walch, brings her landscape design and horticultural expertise, prior garden center experience, and a strong customer focus to GHE.
Commenting on her role, Walch says, “Everything about Green Home Experts balances the needs of the customer with the needs of the planet. Putting an eco-emphasis on gardening fits right in. I’m thrilled to be part of the team.”
To add extra support on opening day, accomplished community gardener and local gardening guru, Sharon Storbeck will be GHE’s “Garden Coach” on Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Storbeck will be available at GHE for free 20 minute consultations with beginner gardeners to answer questions and share ideas on how to get started. Following their consultations, a GHE Garden Concierge will help them determine the right products for their needs. Beginner gardeners who wish to schedule an appointment with the Garden Coach on the 5th should call Green Home Experts at 708.660.1443. Appointments are first come, first served.
