Apr. 10, 2012 - CLEVELAND, OH: On Saturday May 5th 2012 Cleveland-West Road Runners (CWRRC) will be Hosting the 24-Hour Endurance Run which will also be the site of this years 2012 USA Track & Field National Championships. The North Coast 24 (NC24) is an exciting 24-hour endurance race held in Northeast Ohio at the scenic Edgewater Park in Cleveland directly adjacent to Lake Erie. Runners will travel around loop of just under a mile covering as many miles as possible within 24 hours. Runners may elect to run any amount of time or distance that they wish. Overall winners will be those who cover the most distance within the 24 hour time limit. "Whether you are a top runner aiming for a record, a seasoned ultra runner looking for a new PR, or a first-timer wondering just how far you can go in 24 hours, the North Coast 24 is the race for you! We have a great course and a terrific race organization, and we look forward to having you join us!" says Dan Horvath. This year’s field has runners from all over the United States and as far away as Brazil. We anticipate over 120 runners. Sponsors of this event include locally owned and operated Second-Sole Rocky River, Hammer Nutrition Endurance Fuels, Montrail Shoe Company, and First Federal of Lakewood.
The Cleveland-West Road Runners Club has been in existence for over 35-years running and currently hosts Cleveland’s longest running road races. We currently consist of over 300 members. 20 years ago we founded the Mohican 100-mile trail race which also was the location of the Inaugural Trail 100-mile National Championship. CWRRC actively partners with local youth running programs to encourage children to become lifelong runners. The NC24 Spring Endurance race will be supported by experienced runner/volunteers to ensure the racers will have the best 24 hour experience possible. Registration will be open until race morning:
