By: Latinos in Social Media [LATISM] As a partner organization, LATISM will provide support to the NALEO Educational Fund and their work with the award winning non-partisan civic engagement campaign, ya es hora (It’s time). The NALEO Educational Fund and the ya es hora campaign will benefit from LATISM’s extensive online network and local chapters, including access to regional workshops and opportunities to collaborate on technology-based strategies to engage Latinos in the American political process. “We couldn’t be prouder to partner with the NALEO Educational Fund and the ya es hora campaign. As the name of the campaign implies, it is time for our entire community to become full and active participants in the political process of this country,” said Elianne Ramos, Vice Chair of Marketing and PR at LATISM. “By mobilizing our vast network online and on the ground, we will be able to facilitate localized, resource-driven ideas and strategies to educate and inform our community about the importance of exercising their rights to ensure a better future for all Latinos.” Arturo Vargas, Executive Director of the NALEO Educational Fund, said, "We are pleased to have LATISM partner with our organization and the ya es hora campaign to help mobilize the Latino community. Their assistance will help ensure that the nation’s second largest and fastest growing population group has the information necessary to make their voices heard on Election Day 2012 and beyond." A core team from LATISM and the NALEO Educational Fund will oversee planning and implementation for the partnership. Joint on and offline activities for the initiative will be announced separately. National partners of the ya es hora campaign include the NALEO Educational Fund, Univision Communications, Inc., Entravision Communications, impreMedia, Mi Familia Vota, and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
