The Hayes Barnard-Paramount Equity Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- (Roseville, CA) - Hayes Barnard, CEO of Paramount Equity, launched the Hayes Barnard-Paramount Equity Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship, or Y.E.S., for inspiring young business students.  This scholarship will grant one lucky recipient a $12,000 college scholarship that will be paid directly to the recipient’s college or university.

Hayes wanted to do something to help lend a hand to entrepreneurial students with a vision to, “Go big,” says Barnard. Hayes was inspired to create the Y.E.S. Scholarship through his own experience.  Raised by a single mother on a teacher’s salary, he and his mother, Diane, worked together to pay for Hayes’ college tuition.  “Getting funding for college is not easy, especially these days.  My mother had to literally sell things around the house to help pay for my education. I know how challenging it can be for families trying to help a child get through school,” says Barnard.  

The Y.E.S. Scholarship gives future entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their ideas through higher education.  Hayes started Paramount Equity along with his two closest childhood friends and a small army of passionate people.   He’s since created three successful corporations focused on helping families save money by reducing their mortgage, energy, and insurance bills.  

“I was a young, scrappy kid with big business dreams. I have to believe there are other kids out there that have a similar vision… to help others somehow, some way. My hope is that this scholarship can assist a young aspiring individual to get through college and start making a difference,” says Barnard.  

The Y.E.S. Scholarship will be awarded to a future entrepreneur who wants to make an impact in their community and who can develop ideas into actionable business plans.  The scholarship is open to any college-bound entrepreneur. Students can apply for the Y.E.S. Scholarship by providing an essay.  They can also showcase their passion and resourcefulness by submitting a video.  Submissions are judged on creativity, communication of thoughts and ideas, basic grammar, and a true passion for a cause.
