Former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is being questioned whether his behavior crossed the line into criminal territory. The legality of his tactics was called into question after an audiotape surfaced where Williams was heard urging the Saints defenders to attack specific body parts of certain players before a playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Williams has been indefinitely suspended, head coach Sean Payton was suspended for the next season, general manager Mickey Loomis was suspended for eight games, and assistance coach Joe Vitt was suspended for six games. A number of fans and attorneys feel that the punishments should be sorted out by the NFL; however, the more evidence that surfaces, the more likely it becomes that authorities will be getting involved.
