April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Folk music might seem like the opposite end of the musical spectrum from Black Metal but you'll find the intersection of the two styles in the newly released Watch List from Great New Metal Authority Andrew Veirtz

As members of the Watch List, these bands will be the subject of feature stories and their fans will be encouraged to show their dedication and support by participating in our video contest. Bands on the Watch List will be first in line to become future winners of Andrew's Seal of Approval. That designation will earn them a full month of intensive daily coverage plus the ability to partner with our Signature Designers to create an exclusive licensed t-shirt that will earn them revenue.

Here are the bands Andrew is watching:

Woods of Desolation- "Desolate, icy black metal with just the right touch melody."

Falls of Rauros- "In the band's own words, 'North Appalachian Heathen Black Folk Metal.' Can't get much more awesome than that!"

Forefather-"'Anglo-Saxon Metal,' really strong folk metal with a strong black metal influence."

Ebony Lake- "A band that takes avant-garde to a new level with music comparable to a mental patient's ravings."

Thy Catafalque- "A one-man progressive metal project with black metal influences and textures."

An Autumn for Crippled Children- "Melodic and depressive black metal from the Netherlands."

Celeste-"An interesting mix of hardcore and black metal that crushes all in its wake."

Krallice- "Expansive, epic black metal with an old-school style."

Sektemtum- "Groove-tastic black metal that combines a tribal Gojira-like stomp with lizard demon vocals."

Hail Spirit Noir- "An unusual mix of old-school Mercyful Fate incantations and slithery black metal."

If your musical tastes explore that dark territory between power metal and black metal, then Andrew Veirtz may be your Great New Metal Authority. The music most dear to "Drewcifer's" heart is anything that pushes the boundaries. That includes progressive and avant-garde styles. He loves it when bands concoct strange combinations that ooze and bubble out new artforms.

Andrew is eager to see what fans of these bands come up with when they submit YouTube videos to his Facebook page about why the whole world should know about their favorite Watch List band.

Great New Metal helps to fulfill the dreams of dozens of metal bands each year but providing them with professional content that builds a buzz around them while partnering with those bands for exclusive licensed signature design shirts that will help them make some cash to further their careers.

Paul Waggoner of Between the Buried and Me, Paul Masvidal of Cynic, and Brian Fair of Shadows Fall are among the well-known metal stars showing support for Great New Metal.
