Fast Selling Book Turns into Motion Picture

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- (Tampa, FL) - Soon former undercover DEA Agent Robert Mazur's true life story, as told in "The Infiltrator: My Secret Life Inside the Dirty Banks behind Pablo Escobar's Medellin Cartel", will be portrayed in motion pictures.

George Films Ltd, the U.K. based development and packaging arm of Good Films Ltd. bought the movie rights to Mazur's book and is in the process of adapting the book into a screenplay.

Miriam Segal of George Film Ltd and Good Film Ltd is producing this film development project. In 2007 she started Good Films Ltd. The company's first two movies, "Good" (2009) and "The Great Ghost Rescue" (2011), had budgets that were among the highest for independent U.K. films in their respective years of production.

Brad Furman, director of the blockbuster movie "The Lincoln Lawyer", has been engaged by George Films Ltd to direct The Infiltrator. Furman's first film, The Take, starring John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez was nominated for a 2008 'Independent Spirit Award'. His second film, The Lincoln Lawyer, starred Matthew McConaughey and was released worldwide in 2011.

Pablo Escobar ran one of the deadliest and most feared Drug Cartels in the world. Mazur was assigned as an Undercover Agent to infiltrate the hierarchy of that cartel and their money launderers. What transpired from his work was hailed as one of the most celebrated stings in world history. Along with cartel leadership, the evidence Mazur gathered brought down the world's 7th largest privately held bank BCCI (Bank of Credit and Commerce International) and its senior management.

The operation came to a close at the staged wedding of "Bob Musella" (undercover federal agent Robert Mazur) who brought top players from Colombia's mafia and their corrupt bankers to a trap, where their arrests shook the foundation of the drug world and ripped the mask off the world's 7th largest privately held bank, exposing its role as the gatekeeper of fortunes for corrupt world leaders and criminal empires around the world. In all, over 100 traffickers and money launderers were charged.

The release of "The Infiltrator" is expected as early as 2014.
