Androscoggin Bank Supports Local Food Bank

April 10, 2012 - PRLog -- LEWISTON, Maine – April 10, 2012 – Androscoggin Bank today announced their efforts to support the Good Shepherd Food Bank through a month long food drive. With a goal set for collecting 1,000 pounds of non-perishable items from Bank employees and friends, the final donation totaled 1,205 pounds.

To support the food drive efforts, employees and friends were encouraged to donate non-perishable items at any of the Bank’s 13 full-service branches across the State of Maine during the month of March. During the Bank’s “Casual Friday,” employees gave two cans of non-perishables in exchange for the privilege of dressing down.

“We were blown away by the generous food donations that helped us surpass our goal. Our employees and friends went above and beyond to show their commitment to our community,” said Lise Patterson, Retail Lending System Coordinator and organizer of the food drive at Androscoggin Bank. “Our collective efforts will make this Easter season a little brighter for those in the community who are less fortunate and could use the extra support.”

Good Shepherd Food-Bank works to provide food for those at risk of hunger by soliciting surplus food, establishing essential partnerships with many others concerned about ending needless hunger and distributing it to non-profit programs throughout Maine.
