According to the national trade body bright and vibrant colours are on trend this year.
Although beautiful to look at, these bold tones need to be carefully applied for maximum impact.
Neil Ogilvie, Chief Executive of the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), said: “People are looking to bring their homes to life this Spring and lively, bright colours are on the agenda.
“However, care needs to be taken with such noticeable colour schemes and that’s why it is important to use a professional tradesperson with all the correct credentials.
“By selecting a PDA member, householders can rest assured their decorator has undergone a stringent process to be awarded membership.”
Homeowners can search for a trusted professional in their local area using the PDA’s website – www.paintingdecoratingassociation.co.uk
All members of the Association are subject to in-depth checks and have to fulfil a number of requirements, including the production of evidence of more than five years’ experience in the industry. They are also obliged to carry adequate public liability insurance and references.
Homeowners can find out more about the PDA with their new nationwide initiative – ‘It’s Good To Use A PDA Member’ – run in association with Crown Paints.
