Harbor Queen Celebrates 40 Years of Fun – A Call for Stories from the Community

April 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Harbor Queen is celebrating 40 years of fun in the Annapolis Harbor as daily 40-minute cruises resumed last week.  Watermark’s signature boat, Harbor Queen, was built in 1972. She has been cruising along the same track around the United States Naval Academy, viewing the Chesapeake Bay Bridges, and sounding her horn for millions of passengers over the last 40 years.

“Harbor Queen has hosted so many different people and events over the last 4 decades,” says President Debbie Gosselin, “we have locals who come regularly each summer; thousands of students learning about Maryland, guests from all over the world, and celebrations of all kinds – not to mention students whose first job was on our Queen.”  

In honor of her birthday, Watermark is asking the community to share their own Harbor Queen stories.

The stories Harbor Queen could tell! From a child’s first boat ride to a 50th Anniversary celebration or a memorable summer job at the Dock, Harbor Queen has seen many celebrations, memories made and smiling faces. Patricia Sczuka shares her Harbor Queen memory:  “What a great way to be together with your friends and enjoy the summer breeze while dancing and listening to ‘Beach Music’. My dance club and I danced on the Harbor Queen while ‘Captain Mel’ took us out on the Severn River. My friends are still talking about it. And the best part of all of it was cruising on the Severn River while dancing…and the Captain is my daughter, Melonie.”
