Set around the year 150M BC, 11-year-old Demki ventures away from his family and into the wilderness. When he reaches the Valley of Zam, he meets the Wizard of Zee. The Wizard becomes Demki’s mentor and teaches him to believe in himself. Demki experiences many wondrous adventures, including a mission to save Gondwana from being captured by Bogaar, a mutant buffalo.
As Demki faces his fears, he explores the wonders of nature and learns to “fight war with peace.” What could be better than that?

About the Author: Desmond Bishop grew up in South Africa, Northern Rhodesia and Southern Rhodesia, now known as Zambia and Zimbabwe. He currently travels frequently to Southeast Asia, but calls the village of Nimbin, in the Northern Rivers of Australia, home. Now retired, the author used to act, teach and direct theatre, radio and TV. He is writing the novel’s sequel, Gondwana Goes Global.
