This course provides the most current information on prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens (HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C) and other common infectious diseases (Hepatitis A, Scabies, MRSA, Staphylococcus Auerus, Streptococcus Skin Infection, Molluscum Contagiousum, Shingles, TB, Impetigo, Infectious Mononucleosis, Herpes Simplex, Ring Worm) in body art establishments.
The Safe Body Art Act was signed into law on October 9, 2011. This law applies to all body art including piercing, tattoos and permanent cosmetics. The law became effective on January 1, 2012 but the compliance date for registration and facility permitting is July 1, 2012.
