In order to raise as much money as they can for Autism research, both attorneys have committed to running from the border of Canada to the border of Mexico. The run is expected to take place in April of 2013, and both attorneys are training especially hard for this event. They plan on competing in three Ironman Triathlons this year, two of which are next month in May, and another in August. As for the 1550-plus mile run from border to border, the two are planning on taking it one day at a time – running approximately 50 miles a day for 35 days, give or take a few days.

Autism is a developmental disorder that usually appears within the first three years of an infant’s life. As it affects the normal development of the brain, Autism is thought to be caused due to a number of reasons, including mercury poisoning, the body’s inability to properly use vitamins, or vaccines, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information. A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revealed that 1 in 88 children have an autism spectrum disorder, a 23 percent increase from the last report in 2009; this is a statistic that hits home with this law firm and makes the fight that much more personal.
