Record Store Day is as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA and hundreds of similar stores internationally. On this day, record stores join with artists and labels to promote and revive the indie shop's role in music.
This year's Record Store Day will be biggest yet with over 300 exclusive, limited vinyl releases. In past years, enthusiastic collectors started lining up more than an hour ahead of Mojo Books & Music's 9am opening.
In addition to the exclusive Record Store Day releases, Mojo will hold events throughout the day. Free goodie bags will be given with every purchase while supplies last. Drawings and giveaways will be held with premium Record Store Day merchandise and rare releases from previous years. Additionally, Tampa's own chapter of the worldwide vegan bakesale will begin at 10am to benefit Florida Voices for Animals. And a full lineup of free, all ages in-store performances will run throughout it all.

“Record Store Day is our most exciting day of the year,” said Melanie Cade, co-owner of Mojo Books & Music. “Our customers are able to take home something special, something the big online retailers can't offer. And they get to have a great time doing it. We welcome everyone to join the party and explore their local independent record shop.”
