April 6, 2012 - PRLog -- PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – Enjoy Symphony on the Sand featuring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) under the stars on the beach at Callaway Gardens® on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 8 p.m.

“We are excited to announce that Tito Muñoz has been selected as the conductor for the ASO performance at Callaway Gardens,” said Geoff Robertson, the new event organizer.

Muñoz is an American conductor and, since December 2010, has been serving in France as music director of Opéra national de Lorraine and Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy. He was previously Assistant Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

“What a rare chance to see one of the country’s premier orchestras led by such a talented man, all performing in such a beautiful setting.  Symphony on the Sand in 2012 is definitely a ‘must-see’ night.  General seating is on sale as well as a limited number of tables near the stage,” Robertson added.

General seating* on the lawn at Robin Lake Beach can be purchased at a discount in advance, online for $15 per adult; $8 per child age 6 to 12.  Tickets also will be available at the gate for $20 per adult; $10 per child age 6 to 12.  In both instances, children age 5 and younger are admitted for free.  At the gate the day of the event, Callaway Gardens Annual Passholders (with membership card) and active/retired military and their dependents (with a valid military identification card) receive half-price admission.  Special ticket pricing is available for groups larger than 15 if purchased in advance.

Tables* on the beach (with eight chairs and a table cloth) are available for between $249 and $399 based on proximity to the stage.  A variety of food baskets and arrangements are available for purchase.  To reserve, visit www.callawaygardens.com/aso.

Dress is casual.  The Robin Lake Beach gate will open at 5 p.m.  The concert will begin at 8 p.m.

“With the Spring beauty at Callaway Gardens by daylight, I strongly recommend guests stay overnight and make it a weekend getaway,” said Robertson.
The Symphony on the Sand Overnight package includes concert tickets and starts at $159** in the Mountain Creek Inn. Rates also are available for the cozy Southern Pine Cottages and homey Mountain Creek Villas.
