In what has become an annual tradition at Newton Abbot, the racecourse will be giving the first 200 children through the gate an early Easter treat with a free chocolate Easter egg.
Looking to support the many families in the quest to keep the children entertained during the extended Easter weekend, the racecourse’s Family Enclosure will again be open with a raft of children’s entertainment lined up including a bouncy castle, assault course and giant Jenga.
Patrick Masterson, Newton Abbot Racecourse Managing Director said: “Over the years our Easter fixture has proved to be a real family favourite, not just for those with a horseracing interest, but with families who are looking for a low-cost family day out in South Devon.”
“Our free entry for under 16s policy has supported families who have felt the pinch during the past few years and we’re delighted that this year we can extend our free entry policy to all current students.”
A family day out at the races has increased in popularity in recent years, with younger children in awe at being able to see racehorses up-close in the Parade Ring before and after racing.
Sarah Howarth, who brought her family along to the opening fixture at Newton Abbot on Mother’s Day said: “We had a really lovely time at the races. The children thoroughly enjoyed the Family Enclosure and the bouncy castles helped keep them entertained between races.”
“The racecourse’s new ticket office in the centre of the course has made such an improvement to the whole experience. We will definitely be back soon and have already recommended a day at the races to our friends as a great value, family day out.”
Tickets for the Easter Saturday fixture at Newton Abbot Racecourse are on sale now and will also be available on the gate on the day.
