The Business Process Modeling Skills workshop is an interactive workshop that is broken down into lectures and hands-on exercises. Students will start the course learning about business modeling and the various types of modeling techniques. Once students have grasped the concept of business modeling, students will engage in business process mapping and gap analysis for process improvement. With such hands-on exercises as mapping business process steps, analyzing and identifying business gaps and bottlenecks and reviewing case study exercises, students will feel most confident about the business process modeling techniques at large.
The course also includes mind mapping, storyboarding, IDEF process flows and detailed flowcharts with swim lanes during the first half of the workshop. As students move along to the second day of the interactive workshop, there will be more in-depth exercises that continue to further the concept of business modeling. Students will learn how to build an activity diagram, when and how to use UML notations and how and when and how to use a matrix approach.
There are also a variety of skills that are enhanced during the workshop that are directly related to business modeling such as basic facilitation skills, controlling group dynamics, managing conflict and understanding techniques for consensus building and decision making. Case study exercises are also used during the second half of the workshop for better grasp of the learned material.
Like other interactive workshops offered from Pierson Requirements Group, students will receive material that is presented on the web as well as live interaction by phone. All students have access to free pdf materials and receive a Seminar Handbook with sample agendas and scripts. These classes can be taken on an individual or group basis, with many workplaces taking advantage of this cost-effective opportunity that eliminates the need for travel.
Cost for the two-day workshop is $750.00 per participant, with PDUs, CDUs and Certificates of success completion provided at the end of the course. Class sizes are limited to ten students, and group rates are available at a discount.
