Appoints Two New Board Members

Chicago, Illinois – April 5, 2012 - Compass to Care, The Mike & Sandy Ernsdorff Childhood Cancer Foundation, announced today the appointment of Louis R. Fine and Paul Miller to its Board of Directors.

Louis R. Fine, an attorney at the Law Office of Louis R. Fine, has experience that spans more than four decades. Louis’ law practice concentrates in the areas of family law, probate and real estate. He has also served as the Chief of Prosecutions and Administrative Law Judge for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations, and the Chief Attorney for the Charitable Trust and Solicitations Division for the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. Louis currently serves as a Board Member for the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association.

In 2011, Louis personally experienced the devastation of childhood cancer when his niece, Skye, passed away from the disease. His commitment to philanthropy, law expertise and cancer journey with his niece, led Louis to become committed to the mission of Compass to Care and to take on this important role as a Board Member.

Paul Miller is the principal at Paulie Group, LLC, a new media communications and political consulting firm. Paul also serves as the Chairman of the Doctors-Patients Alliance of Illinois, a political action committee that educates lawmakers and voters about the doctor-patient relationship. Paul has extensive experience implementing fundraising programs for both the non-profit and political sectors. At the age of 15, Paul was diagnosed with Fibrosystic Sarcoma. He defeated the disease, but not before his right arm was amputated at the age of 17.

“I will be celebrating my 25th anniversary as a cancer survivor. I look forward to using my professional expertise and fundraising experience as a Compass to Care Board Member to ensure each child has the same opportunity to beat cancer, like I did as a teenager,” Miller explained.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Louis and Paul to our Board of Directors. Both have personally experienced childhood cancer and are committed to helping each child seek the best treatment in hope of a cure. We look forward to their leadership, commitment and individual expertise as we grow to serve children across the country who must travel for this treatment,” said Michelle M. Ernsdorff, Compass to Care founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board.

Compass to Care now have seven Directors serving on its Board. In addition to Louis and Paul, the members include Michelle Ernsdorff, Mario Alberico, former partner at Accenture, Dina Bright, the vice president of finance at Jackmont Hospitality, and Mike and Sandy Ernsdorff, after whom the foundation was named.
